American Legends 2027 Wall Calendar

The twelve, in order: Bass Reeves, the Deputy U.S. Marshal who worked the Indian Territory; Dr. Daniel Hale Williams, pioneering surgeon and founder of Provident Hospital; Crispus Attucks, remembered among the earliest martyrs of the American Revolution; the Black Seminole Scouts, who served twenty-six campaigns out of Fort Clark, Texas; Black Wall Street, Tulsa's Greenwood District and the 1921 massacre that tried to erase it; Nat Love, the formerly enslaved man who became one of the best-known Black cowboys of the American West; the Buffalo Soldiers of the 9th and 10th Cavalry; Sergeant George Jordan, Buffalo Soldier and Medal of Honor recipient; Dr. Christine Darden, the NASA mathematician and aerospace engineer who helped quiet the sonic boom; Henrietta “Aunt Rittie” Williams Foster, a legendary Black cowhand of the Texas coast; Cathay Williams, the only documented woman known to have served with the Buffalo Soldiers; and Esther “Baby Esther” Jones, the young performer whose vocal style shaped American popular culture.
